Silent Sounds Communications announced as Finalists in three categories of the ATC Language Industry Awards

We are proud to have been listed as Finalists in three prestigious industry award categories of the ATC Language Industry Awards: Company of the Year, Team of the Year, and Young Professional of the Year. This recognition comes at an exciting time for Silent Sounds. Alongside our recent feature Association of Translation Companies (ATC) Member of the Month which too was a proud milestone for our organisation and reflects the values that have guided us as a leading language service provider for more than 25 years.

A community-first approach to language services

Silent Sounds was built on strong foundations within both the Deaf community and the spoken-language interpreting sector. What began as two specialist agencies has evolved into a trusted national provider of British Sign Language (BSL) interpreting, spoken-language interpreting, translation services, and language access solutions.

Today, we support clients across healthcare, local government, education, social care, and the private sector, helping organisations communicate effectively with diverse communities throughout the UK.

While our services and technology have evolved significantly over the years, one thing has remained constant, our commitment to people. We believe that professional interpreting services are about more than language. They are about trust, understanding, inclusion, and ensuring equal access for everyone.

This philosophy shapes the way we work with clients, interpreters, translators, and the wider communities we serve. Through ongoing professional development, interpreter engagement initiatives, and tailored language support solutions, we continue to deliver high-quality services that place accessibility at the heart of every interaction.

Innovation that enhances interpreting services

One of the reasons Silent Sounds has been recognised as a finalist for Company of the Year is our commitment to developing innovative language solutions that improve access to communication.

A prime example is InterpretCart, an innovative mobile video-interpreting solution being deployed across NHS hospital sites. Designed to provide on-demand access to qualified interpreters in more than 150 languages, InterpretCart helps healthcare professionals communicate effectively with patients when timely language support is critical.

As demand for healthcare interpreting services continues to grow, NHS organisations require flexible and efficient solutions that support patient safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency. InterpretCart enables hospitals to connect instantly with professional interpreters while maintaining high standards of care and communication.

The solution addresses several challenges faced by healthcare providers, including language barriers, accessibility requirements, infection control considerations, and service efficiency. By bringing remote interpreting services directly to wards and clinical settings, hospitals can improve communication outcomes for patients and staff alike.

Importantly, technology is not replacing professional interpreters. Instead, it is enhancing language access and supporting the delivery of high-quality interpreting services. At Silent Sounds, we remain committed to ensuring that innovation strengthens the profession while improving outcomes for service users and organisations.

A team dedicated to service excellence

Being shortlisted for Team of the Year recognises the remarkable efforts of our colleagues who recently delivered one of the most significant projects in our organisation’s history. The successful migration of more than twelve years of operational and booking data to a new platform was a complex undertaking requiring meticulous planning, collaboration, and dedication. The project was completed without disruption to essential interpreting and accessibility services, ensuring continuity for clients, interpreters, and service users. Many team members worked beyond standard hours to support the transition, demonstrating exceptional professionalism and commitment throughout the process. Equally important was the team’s people-first approach, ensuring all stakeholders remained informed, supported, and confident every step of the way. This achievement reflects the culture that exists throughout Silent Sounds where collaboration, accountability, innovation, and service excellence are embedded in everything we do. As a language service provider, maintaining uninterrupted access to interpreting and translation services is critical, and our team delivered this challenge successfully.

Celebrating future leaders in the language industry

Our recognition extends beyond organisational achievements to the talented individuals helping shape the future of the interpreting and translation industry.
We are incredibly proud that Osman Hussain has been named a finalist for Young Professional of the Year. As a Deaf professional, Osman has become a powerful advocate for accessibility, inclusion, and Deaf awareness.
Over recent years, he has developed into a confident leader, delivering Deaf awareness training to organisations across multiple sectors and helping clients improve their understanding of inclusive communication and accessibility best practices. His lived experience brings invaluable insight to the training he delivers, creating meaningful impact for organisations and the communities they serve.
Alongside his professional achievements, Osman actively supports colleagues, mentors others, and contributes to community initiatives that promote greater inclusion. His recognition reflects the positive difference he continues to make across our organisation, the Deaf community, and the wider language services sector.

Looking ahead with interpreting and translations services

As demand for professional interpreting services, translation services, and language access solutions continues to grow, Silent Sounds remains focused on delivering services that combine innovation, quality, and social responsibility.
Whether through pioneering healthcare interpreting initiatives, investing in technology that enhances communication access, supporting the development of future language professionals, or advocating for greater awareness of Deaf culture and accessibility, our goal remains unchanged, ensuring communication is never a barrier.

Being recognised by the ATC and shortlisted across multiple award categories is a testament to the hard work of our team, the trust of our clients, and the expertise of the interpreters and translators who work alongside us every day.

We are proud of how far we have come, and look forward to the winners being announced on 22nd October, 2026
