As an RSLI interpreter, face-to-face assignments are generally preferred. However, there are times when online is the only option.
Silent Sounds takes the time to work with both clients and interpreters, offering advice and support to all parties before any assignment. They make sure that training, equipment and the environment are both practical and suitable.

Wonderful experience working as an interpreter for Silent Sounds

I am a registered (RSLI) BSL/English interpreter based in London and I started working for Silent Sounds in July. I had never worked for an agency before but was reassured that the team would support me if I ever had any issues, they have been true to their word again and again. Slowly and surely I have been building my confidence and I can honestly say that I actually love working for Silent Sounds. I have been offered a wide variety of bookings, I always feel able to say no to bookings, if I am unsure about something it is easy to get in touch with the team. I feel incredibly supported by the team and know that they have my interests at heart. They are passionate about supporting interpreters and the Deaf community. The team are very professional but also fun as well. Unlike other agencies if there is a problem getting to a booking Silent Sounds contact the client to explain if the interpreter is going to be late. The communication is excellent. I spoke to other interpreters who work for other agencies as well as Silent Sounds and they have all said that Silent Sounds is the best for support for BSL/English interpreters. I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Silent Sounds as an RSLI interpreter.
